International Exchange Outdoor Cooking Gathering

• 日時：2026年6月14日（10時から14時まで）

• Date and Time: June 14, 2026 (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

• 場所：大島小松川公園バーベキュー場　都営新宿線　東大島駅江戸川区側出口から徒歩5分程度

• Location: Oshima Komatsugawa Park Barbecue Area—about a 5-minute walk from the Edogawa Ward exit of Higashi-Oshima Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line

• 対象者：地域住民（日本人・外国人）どなたでも（予約が必要です）webinfo@kokusaiken.org

• Eligibility: Open to all local residents (Japanese and foreign nationals) (Reservations required) webinfo@kokusaiken.org

• 参加人数：20名程度を予定しています。

• Number of participants: We are expecting approximately 20 people.

• 会費は一人500円です。（外国人は無料）

国際交流の入門は、ともかく話してみること、そこから始まります

The first step in international exchange is simply to try talking to people—that’s where it all begins.

※基本的にやさしい日本語で交流します。もちろん英語も可ですWe’ll mainly communicate in simple Japanese. Of course, English is also fine.

外国人と日本人が共同でアウトドアクッキングを行うことで、自然なコミュニケーションを促進し、相互理解を深めることを目的としています。調理や準備といった協働作業を通じて、言語の壁を越えた交流が可能となり、参加者同士の距離を縮める効果が期待されます。国際交流の第一歩として、気軽かつ実践的な場を提供する試みです。

The aim is to promote natural communication and deepen mutual understanding by having foreigners and Japanese people cook outdoors together. Through collaborative tasks such as cooking and preparation, we expect to facilitate interaction that transcends language barriers and help participants bond. This initiative is designed to provide a casual and practical setting as a first step toward international exchange.

一般に、言語の違いやコミュニケーションへの不安から、対話中心の交流には参加の敷居が高いと感じる人も少なくありません。そのため、調理や準備といった共同作業を取り入れることで、言語に過度に依存しない自然なコミュニケーションの場をつくります。参加者は役割分担や協力を通じて関係性を築くことができ、結果として円滑な国際交流が促進されます。

Generally speaking, many people find it difficult to participate in conversation-based interactions due to language barriers or anxiety about communication. Therefore, by incorporating collaborative activities such as cooking and preparation, we create opportunities for natural communication that do not rely excessively on language. Participants can build relationships through the division of tasks and cooperation, which ultimately promotes smooth international exchange.

また、食文化の共有や協働体験を通じて、多様な価値観への理解を深めるとともに、継続的な交流関係の構築にも寄与することが期待されます。国際交流の入門的かつ実践的な機会として、地域における多文化共生の推進に役立ちます。

Furthermore, it is expected that sharing food cultures and engaging in collaborative experiences will deepen understanding of diverse values and contribute to the development of lasting relationships. As an introductory and practical opportunity for international exchange, it will help promote multicultural coexistence within the community.

昨年の様子 とても楽しい会になりました。ちなみに参加外国人はインド人、中国人ちゅうごくじん、ベトナム人の方たちでした。

Last year’s event was a lot of fun. By the way, the international participants included people from India, China, and Vietnam.
