The entrance examinations forTokyo  Metropolitan High schools for 2025 academic year will begin soon.

在京外国人の中学生ざいきょうがいこくじんのちゅうがくせいで進路先決定しんろさきけっていで迷まよっている方かたも多おおいいと思おもいます。
There are many foreign junior high school students living in Tokyo who are unsure about deciding where to go to school.

Introduction to the procedures to enter a Tokyo Metropolitan High School

– A workshop for non-native Japanese speaking students and their guardians –

Date/Time: 13 January 2024  13:30-15:30

Venue: 2^nd Floor Meeting Room of the Komatsukawa Sakura Hall, Edogawa-ku

15-min walk from Higashi-ojima station (Shinjuku Subway Line) and from Hirai station (JR Sobu Line)

Description:

The workshop will provide an overview of the key steps and considerations needed in applying for a Tokyo Metropolitan High School for the academic year 2025, catering to the needs of those students who are not native Japanese speakers. While our workshop held on 10 November 2024 focused on the admission procedure reserved specifically for foreign students residing in Tokyo (https://kokusaiken.org/?p=5528), this workshop on 13 January 2025 will focus on the general admission procedures open for all students including Japanese speaking and non-Japanese speaking students (https://www.kyoiku.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/guide.html ) and provide an overview of the selection process that involves written academic tests. The workshop will also share information and tips that non-native Japanese speaking students may consider as they apply for a Tokyo Metropolitan High School.

The workshop will be delivered primarily in Japanese, but support in English will also be provided as needed.

Tentative program:

• An overview of the application/admission process and key aspects for an applicant to consider.

• Sharing of experiences by students who have successfully been admitted to Tokyo Metropolitan High Schools.

• The importance of high school completion for gaining a residence status in Japan.

• One-on-one individual consultation.

Fees: No participation fees required.
